ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
Anxiety and depression are two most common mental health concerns in our society. What is anxiety and depression?
I call it a disease of excessive thinking. anxiety and depression go hand in hand. people who have anxiety disorders often struggle with depression. Actually it’s your body’s response, to stress in the form of fear, nervousness and worry. for example going for a job interview or giving a speech for the first time in front of large crowd or speaking in school on the first day of school.
Anxiety does not go away and can get worse overtime. If you want to conquer anxiety in life then live in the moment. you don’t have to control your thoughts rather you just have to stop letting them control you, nothing can diminish anxiety faster than action. Anxiety is the minds way of telling you that something is not right.
Having anxiety and depression is like being scared and tired at the same time. It’s is the fear of failure but no urge to be productive, it’s like want to have friends but doesn’t want to socialize.
Depression is the souls way of telling you to change something in your life. You push people away from you because you are afraid of getting hurt and then starting hating yourself turning sad day by day and don’t even know why ?
Depression is when you don’t really care about anything. Whereas anxiety is when you care too much about everything. Both becomes hell for you.
“darr kahin aur nahin bas aapke dimaag mein hota hai, toh darr ke nahin dat ke jiyo”
Think of the word depression as deep rest your body needs to go in deep rest rather going in depression.
Anxiety and depression both manipulates you by making you question yourself. once you start doubting yourself it grows and takes a toll over you. it starts putting thoughts of worst case scenarios in your minds, effectively trapping you and leading you towards depression.
“khushi iss par nirbhar nahin karti ki aap kon hain ya aap kya karte hain aur aap ke pass kya hai . Ye sirf iss par nirbhar karti hai ki aap kya sochte aur samajhte hain”
Till the time you are cultivating feelings of joy and happiness depression and anxiety cannot settle in your head.
Don’t live to please others. if you are depressed you are living in the past and if you are having anxiety then you are living in the future, when you are at peace you are in present.
So don’t sit in dark rooms crying, no one wishes to have dark days, grumpy mornings, sleepless nights and this endless dark tunnel with no sign of end.
Behind every sweet smile there is a bitter sadness that no one can ever see and feel. That’s the reason why people keep all inside. It’s not always the tears that measure pain sometimes it’s the smile we fake. Now what to do when you are feeling sad and low.
Start saying these phrases loudly
- I am bent but not broken
- I am scared but not disfigured
- I am sad but not hopeless
- I am tired but not lifeless
- I am afraid but not powerless
- I am angry but not bitter
I am depressed and anxious but not giving up .
Anxiety never goes away in-fact you have to learn to control it. greatest glory is not in never failing but is in rising up every time we fail. Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.
“haar ke baare mein kyon sochein, jabki jeet ki sambhavana hamesha rehti hai”
Always remember no amount of guilt can solve the past and no amount of anxiety can change the future. Anxiety can be a part of you but not you .
The truth is that there is no actual stress or anxiety in the world .
It’s your thoughts that create these false beliefs. You can’t feel, touch or see stress but definitely you can see people getting engaged in stressful thinking. relax and refuse to let worry and stress rule your life, there is always a solution to every problem. things will work out for you when you take time to relax, refresh and recharge your soul.
So unplug yourself and see yourself starting again without any obstacle and with more confidence and clarity.
The day you will stop worrying will be the first day of new you. Anxiety takes you in circles , trust in yourself and become free.
At the end I would like to say let’s show support for mental health awareness and show those who are suffering, that they are not alone in this battle. Remember 1 in 3 of us might suffer with this at any point of time in our lives and will need love and support.
Therefore always say ”I will be more stronger than my sadness”
