Maha Shivratri

It’s a festival of marking a remembrance of “overcoming darkness and ignorance “ in life. It is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in honor of the deity Shiva. It’s a night when Shiva and Parvati got married. Devotees join together and chant mantras, they do cosmic dance and remember Shiva’s presence all around. It is also believed on this particular day Lord Shiva consumed poison discovered during samundra manthan and kept it in his throat from then onward  he acquired  the name NEELKANTH MAHADEV.

On this day special rituals and worships are performed in the temples.

The worshippers stay awake the whole night singing and dancing to get the blessings of Shiva.

Kaal Bhi Tum Aur Mahakal Bhi Tum, Lok Bhi Tum Aur Trilok Bhi Tum, Shiv Hi Satya Hai Aur Satya Hi Shiv Hai.

The supreme Lord Shiva is the god of “Creation and Destruction“

It was on this day the light of “Linga“ was revealed . Different types of offerings are poured on the Linga such as milk, yogurt, honey and turmeric. men and women come together and sing religious hymns throughout the night and they also observe a fast for the day.

It is a beginning of a New Year for the Spiritual seekers as it increases spiritual growth and material attainment. On this day one should stay awake the whole night and experience the ultimate light of oneness with Mahadev.  It is said during this night the devotees Aatma interacts with Parmatma in the form of either Vibrations or Silence.

When you chant “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA” the negative forces around you get dissolved. So keep your mind clean and clear, think of the Divine energy that will be of benefit to you. The Mantras should be recited slowly and steadily synchronized with your breathing.

When you Breath in and breath out recite the mantra “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA” within your mind. By doing this you can attain a high state of spirituality and even self-realization.

KARTA KARE NA KAR SAKE SHIV KARE SO HOYE, TEEN LOK NOU KHAND MEIN, SHIV SE BADA NA KOI.

On the day of Shivratri Get up early in the morning take cold water bath and wear white clothes.

Apni iccha ko pura karne ke liye OM NAMAH SHIVAYA ka jaap karte hue , 101 ek baar Shivling  Ka jal Abhishek karein. Apni iccha ko pura karne ke liye 21 baeil  patron pe apni iccha likh ke shivling par chadhaien.  Iss se aapki iccahaon ki purti hogi.

It is all about spirituality and introspecting our own actions and seeking help from God for better growth at the soul level. This spiritual growth will reflect on the well being of body, mind and soul.
